Cash’s bittersweet day
PAT CASH had mixed emotions as he recalled his greatest day at Wimbledon 30 years ago.
Yesterday was the anniversary of his 1987 classic SW19 triumph over Andy Murray’s coach Ivan Lendl.
Cash (left) was the first player to scale the terrace to celebrate with his late father. But he said: “With my dad no longer with me, it was a special moment – but I can’t watch it any more. It just makes me cry.”
