Man ‘killed a boy of 5 over a lost trainer’
A BOY of five was battered to death when his mother’s boyfriend flew into a rage after the child lost one of his trainers, a court heard.
Marvyn Iheanacho, 39, had taken Alex Malcolm to a park where witnesses heard a child say ‘Sorry’ and a man yelling about a lost shoe, the jury was told.
Loud banging heard by witnesses could have been “repeated assaults” on Alex, prosecutors said.
They admitted no one saw the attack but claimed: “This defendant assaulted the boy, causing fatal head and stomach injuries.”
Iheanacho, of Hounslow, West London, denies murder in Catford, South East London, where Alex’s mother Lilya Breha lives.
The trial at Woolwich crown court continues.
