Patients’ Pride
DESPITE their pain, these heroic patients at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool keep smiling.
Cancer sufferers Abigail Alker, eight, and Ellen Houghton, 15, have been nominated for the Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards, in partnership with TSB.
Ellen’s mum Michelle, 44, says: “All she’s ever brought to the world is good but then, in April, she was diagnosed with cancer. It’s cruel. Too cruel.”
