Digital Today, Disc Monday The claws are out as Hugh Jackman makes an emotional last stand as the superhero Wolverine. Abandoning spandex and lighthearted frolics, this is notably the grittiest, darkest and bloodiest offering in the often disappointing nine-film X-Men superhero franchise. It’s a splatter fest of bone-splitting, brain-skewering violence and is all the more fun for it. Consequently Logan delivered more than £470million at the box office on a budget of less than £100m. Pummelled by far more emotional and physical punches than previous episodes, I almost wish it wasn’t Jackman’s last one. We’ll see.
