Brave lad’s fight with cruel illness
BRADLEY had been battling neuroblastoma since he was just 18 months old.
Fewer than 100 children in the UK are diagnosed with the rare cancer each year.
The condition develops from nerve cells called neuroblasts, which are left behind from a baby’s growth in the womb.
Bradley had a tumour so large it was putting pressure on his major organs and arteries.
It eventually spread to his chest, lymph nodes, bones and bone marrow. He had surgery and chemotherapy and went into remission.
But he relapsed last July and in December his parents were told he had only months to live.
Further treatment failed and Bradley left hospital to start palliative care at home in May.
