From first born to lasting NHS

-

My friend Aneira Thomas, a great lady, was 69 on Wednesday. Arriving at 12.01am on July 5, 1948, she was the first baby born into the newly-created National Health Service.

Nurses and doctors named her after Aneurin Bevan, the visionary Labour minister who founded our beloved NHS.

Happy Birthday, Aneira. And long live our NHS, no matter that our Government is already stealthily dismantling it.

We love the NHS. We despise this Government. Guess which one will endure?
