Gun-toting thug hit female firefighter as his home burnt
A MAN punched a woman firefighter and aimed a gun at her as she rescued his mum from a blaze, a court heard.
Louise Thornton feared Jason Dodd, 23, was about to shoot her, not realising the weapon was an air-pistol.
Mark Watson, prosecuting, told Lincoln crown court that Dodd and his brother Simon Harrison, 24, attacked firefighters in April last year when they arrived at their mother’s home in Spalding, Lincs. He said Dodd hit Ms Thornton on the nose and threatened her with the gun. David Eager, mitigating, said Dodd had not left his home in two years, adding: “He plays on his X Box, drinks and smokes cannabis.” Dodd, who admitted affray and possession of an imitation firearm, was jailed for 16 months. Harrison was given an 18-month community order for threatening behaviour.
