Party in Euro move to save worker rights
LABOUR is ready to join other parties to stop the Tories weakening workers’ rights in a hard Brexit.
Shadow Brexit Secretary Sir Keir Starmer told the BBC it was “highly likely” Labour would try to amend the Repeal Bill.
This aims to incorporate EU legislation back into UK law but there are fears the Tories could use the move to water down rights guaranteed by Brussels.
Meanwhile, Chancellor Philip Hammond has told Tory Brexiteers it would be “madness” for the UK to cut its ties with Europe.
He warned there would be an “instant hit” if Britain lost access to EU markets through a hard Brexit.
