Man, 19, arrested at airport over Manchester bombing
A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with the Manchester Arena suicide bombing.
The 19-year-old man was detained at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport yesterday, on suspicion of offences contrary to the Terrorism Act.
A property in Fallowfield, Manchester, is being searched as part of the investigation.
The suspect was in custody last night. Twenty-two people were killed when Salman Abedi, 22, set off a shrapnel bomb in the venue’s foyer after an Ariana Grande gig on May 22. Yesterday’s arrest comes after antiterror detectives said this week they suspected others were “either aware or complicit in the knowledge of this attack”. In total 23 people have been arrested in the police probe. Two were de-arrested and 20 released without charge.
