Strikes to hit 3rd rail firm
STRIKES by rail workers over staffing and driveronly trains will spread to a third operator today.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport union began a three-day walkout on Arriva Rail North on Saturday. RMT members on Merseyrail will take action again today.
Southern Railway will also be hit by the strike.
RMT general secretary Mick Cash pointed to “the continued hand of Transport Secretary Chris Grayling blocking a settlement”.
