Gazza’s back in Toon

-

PAUL Gascoigne turns back Tyne for delighted fans in his beloved Newcastle colours. The ex-England star, 50, looked in great form as he ran out yesterday with fellow Toon and England legend Peter Beardsley in Gateshead. They played in memory of late United goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek and Gazza bagged the last goal in a 7-1 win over locals Felling. His nephews Cameron and Joe smiled as they posed up for a snap with their uncle – who claimed in May he was winning his long battle with booze.

Also playing were former Magpies favourites Darren Peacock, Keith Gillespie and Steve Howey.

Gazza, who moved from St James’ Park to Tottenham after three seasons, last played for Newcastle United in 1988.

But, as the glory days came flooding back, it only seemed like yesterday as he celebrated scoring. FAMILY HERO Gazza with Cameron and Joe
