BLUE AT SHOW’S DEMISE
I have to agree with ex-Blue Peter presenters Peter Purves and Janet Ellis how sad it is that the programme is in decline (Mirror, July 6).
In my day, you’d run home from school, do your homework quickly while the programmes for younger children were on, then at 4.15pm it was a fight between BBC1 and ITV as to which had the best shows to watch. Blue Peter, Magpie and Grange Hill were all great favourites, and then at 5.45pm it was all over when the news came on.
Happy days, but now the main channels don’t cater for kids at all, which is disgraceful. Even Saturday mornings are full of cookery shows. Yvonne Webb, Birmingham
