RHINOS RAMPAGE DRIVEN BY FEAR
RUGBY LEAGUE
BRIAN McDERMOTT says the fear factor helped Leeds hand Salford their biggest defeat of the season to leapfrog them in the table.
Veteran captain Danny McGuire (above) pulled the strings as the Rhinos blew the home side off the pitch in a devastating spell of 36 points in 25 first-half minutes. With Leeds now second, boss McDermott said: “It’s not a false position Salford are in, and sometimes you have to fear the opposition to bring out the best in you.”
Salford coach Ian Watson said: “Leeds taught us a lesson.”
Ref James Child had a plastic bottle thrown at him as he left the pitch.
