around £150,000 a week. And the England striker revealed he wore Everton pyjamas with his sons Klay, Kai and Kit while at United.

After pulling on a blue jersey again, he said: “I’ve kept it quiet for the last 13 years, but I’ve actually been wearing Everton pyjamas at home with my kids.”

United waived their £10million asking price in return for a discount on striker Romelu Lukaku’s £75m switch in the opposite direction.
