Ex-MI5 chief in terror talk
THE scale of the terrorist threat to Britain is “genuinely unprecedented”, a former head of MI5 says.
Baroness ManninghamBuller said there was “relentless” pressure and the “tempo” of the attacks was increasing.
Speaking in a Lords debate, she said MI5 had “500 active investigations, involving 3,000 subjects of interest”. She added there was no magic cure, adding: “This is a long-term problem and requires our continued resolve.”
