So what’s happening with the Downton Abbey film then? Over to you, Joanne Froggatt, who played ladies’ maid Anna.

“We’d all be up for it but it’s very confusing – none of us know,” she tells us at the South Bank Show Awards. “They say they have pressed the green button and it keeps getting announced it has been pressed, but we don’t know.”

Er, right. Have they said whether it would pick up where the series left off, or will it be set earlier? “It would be good to do a prequel but it’s up to the powers that be.”
