AGELESS FEDERER TAKING IT EASY

- BY ANDY DUNN

ROGER FEDERER cruised into his 15th Wimbledon quarterfinal and sent an ominous warning to his big-name rivals.

Bidding to become the oldest winner in the open era and the only man in history to claim eight Wimbledon titles, Federer said he felt so good that he could have gone straight back out on court after his 6-4 6-2 6-4 win over Grigor Dimitrov.

Federer turns 36 early next month but has breezed though the first four rounds to book a last-eight meeting with big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic, who came through five sets against Alexander Zverev.

It was Raonic (below) who ended Federer’s bid in the semi-finals last year but the Swiss was suffering with a knee problem. After brushing Dimitrov aside, Fed (above) said: “I feel like I’m rested enough.

“I’ve not had the toughest matches. “I can look at this quarter-final in a totally relaxed fashion. Physically, I’m not fighting anything like last year with my knee.

“It was too much for the body (last year). I’m ready to go this afternoon if I have to.”
