Drunk hit lad and drove on

A DRUNK driver who left a teen cyclist for dead before fleeing 150 miles to his mother’s home was turned in by his ex-wife.

Owen Finn, 64, crashed into Kiernan Roberts, 16, from behind, leaving him with a broken neck. The lad, of Hull, is still in hospital nine months later.

Businessman Finn, of Hall Green, Birmingham, admitted causing serious injury and drink-driving.

Finns’s counsel at Hull crown court said he acted with “cowardice”. He is to be sentenced on Friday.
