Work experience teen becomes a rail Twitter star
His witty replies charm commuters
A TEENAGER on work experience at a troubled rail firm has cheered commuters with his funny tweets.
Eddie, 15, was placed with Southern Rail which is embroiled in a dispute with unions over driver-only trains.
He was given work on their Twitter account, followed by 160,000 people, and after saying hello he was flooded with off-the-wall questions.
As #AskEddie started to trend, one passenger called Adam Winstone asked: “Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?” Eddie took it in his stride, saying: “100 duck-sized horses. A horse-sized duck would be pretty scary! You?”
Adam replied: “I don’t think I’ve got the stamina to fight 100 of anything. I’m taking my chances with the giant duck.”
Eddie wrote: “Suit yourself, a horse-sized duck would be pretty ferocious.”
The rail firm’s Twitter feed is usually inundated with rants but on Tuesday and yesterday he charmed commuters.
Southern Rail said: “We’re thrilled he won over so many customers and have been very impressed at his quick wit.”
Eddie said: “I was just me. It’s been amazing.”
