Production of the new Nissan Qashqai has begun at the company’s Sunderland factory.

The new car features revised exterior styling, a revamped interior, improved driving performance and what Nissan describes as intelligent mobility technologies.

These will include a Pro-PILOT autonomous system which controls braking, acceleration and steering on single-lane highways. This will be available on the new car from next spring.

The Qashqai is Nissan’s most successful model in Europe and is currently the bestselling vehicle built in Britain.
