Pole as Scott saw it
ONE of the final photos of explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott on his ill-fated Antarctic mission is seen in colour for the first time.
It shows the Navy officer and his companions at the South Pole, not long before they died during the Terra Nova expedition in 1912.
The image is one of several brought to life by electrician Royston Leonard, 54, from Cardiff.
Royston, who became interested in Scott due to a memorial in his local park, said: “I see a beautiful but deadly world in these images... and men not really understanding what they were letting themselves in for.”
