Kids’ honour tragic MP Jo with musical
YOUNGSTERS are paying tribute to murdered MP Jo Cox with a performance of her favourite musical.
Around 120 nine to 18-year-olds are taking part in Les Miserables in Jo’s former constituency, with West End director Nick Evans in charge.
Jo had seen the classic show five times before her murder by a right-wing extremist last summer.
Her successor as Batley & Spen MP, ex-Coronation Street star Tracy Brabin, said: “It’s going to be an amazing, epic production.”
The performances are next month in Oxfam’s warehouse in Batley, West Yorks. Jo used to work for the charity.
Her widower, Brendan, plans to take their two children to the show.
