Squirrelling away skills..

GREY squirrels can remember tasks they learned almost two years earlier, scientists have discovered.

And they can also solve a redesigned version of the same test in 30 seconds.

In a study they pressed a lever to get a nut, a skill they mastered 22 months earlier. It took them just three seconds to recall the trick, five seconds faster than when they first tried.

Exeter University animal behaviour expert Dr Pizza Ka Yee Chow said: “This might be why they survive very well in cities.”
