Dancing class for dementia
OLDER people could get dance lessons to fight dementia, say scientists.
The activity boosts blood flow to the brain and could ward off Alzheimer’s disease, much as physical exercise keeps the body fit.
Wake Forest University, North Carolina, has got a £1million US health agency grant for a three-year trial.
Prof Christina Soriano said: “Our research shows improvisational movement encourages creative approaches to problem solving and better balance.”
