SHOP THEN SLEEP OVER

-

John Lewis shoppers will be able to sleep in some of its department stores from this autumn.

The high street chain is working on plans to have an apartment, kitted out with John Lewis furniture and furnishings, in a small number of branches where customers will be able to stay the night.

Boss Paula Nickolds called it a “Night at the Museum-style” experience.

The idea is part of a campaign called Only Here launching in September to plug products and services which are unique to John Lewis.

The chain is also working with Jaguar Land Rover on technology that will allow orders to be delivered to the boot of customers’ cars, without them being there.

Delivery drivers will be able to use a one-off code to unlock the boot of vehicles equipped with the latest Internet connected gadgetry.
