FED’S ACE HIGH FOR BALL BOY

ROGER FEDERER is a great player and evidently just as great a man.

It might seem hard for the King of Grass to enhance his reputation any further in these parts, but he would surely have managed it with his latest gesture.

Federer hit his 10,000th ace in his first-round victory over Ukraine’s Alexandr Dolgopolov (above).

The historic moment earned the ball boy who caught the ball five minutes of fame and an interview with the Championship’s in-house TV channel.

Not only that, Federer then made the moment all the more special for the youngster by gatecrashing Haris Khan’s interview and having his own little chat with the ball boy.

Then to top it all off, Federer came up with the idea of auctioning the landmark ball for charity.
