Tributes that prove ‘cancer has no colours’
FOOTBALL fans up and down the country wore their team colours in memory of Bradley yesterday.
Public workers, schoolchildren and sports staff donned strips instead of traditional uniforms and made a £1 donation to the charity set up in the six-year-old’s name.
Hundreds of staff at Durham Police
HQ joined in alongside bus drivers in the city. And many took to social media to share pictures using the hashtag CancerHasNoColours#
One poignant image was posted by Alan Strand, 47, who saw a fan on a Sunderland bus wearing a Black Cats’ shirt with the word Bradley on the back. Tributes were posted from fans of rival teams. Denise Lawton shared a photo of son Calum Sheavills, seven, in his Newcastle strip and said: “We wouldn’t do any other than show support.”
Yorkshire cricketer Tim Bresnan revealed his team-mates were wearing football shirts in the warm up for their game with Lancashire.
