Peacock’s big break
JONNIE PEACOCK is planning to take next season off to get his life back after completing his bucket list of medals.
Peacock (above), 24, won his second world T44 100m title on Sunday in London – to add to two Paralympic golds – and will skip competition next season.
He said: “For the last seven years most of my days have revolved around training or the next competition.
“So it will be nice to put myself first and say, ‘Yeah, I can go out tonight and get drunk – I will go training in a couple of days’.
“I will still train next year, but only a couple of days a week – I don’t think I will really compete. This year was the biggest I have had – I definitely need a break.”
