Brexit team lacks women says Labour

THERESA May has been urged by MPs to put more women on to Britain’s Brexit negotiating team.

More than 50 female Labour MPs have written to the PM to complain that women are being frozen out of the crucial talks.

In the letter, organised by Seema Malhotra, they say Brexit is “becoming just another job for the boys”. They tell Mrs May women make up just 11% of the British team but half of the EU team’s positions.

The letter says: “Brexit negotiations will need women’s voices on mainstream issues like the economy as well as on addressing how we maintain workplace rights.”
