Walliams’ 100 weeks at No1

DAVID Walliams is the first author to enjoy 100 weeks at the top of the Children’s Book Chart – a feat Harry Potter author JK Rowling never achieved.

Gangsta Granny, in 2011, was his first to make No1, followed by nine others.

While the 100 weeks did not all fall consecutively, the comedian and Britain’s Got Talent judge has already topped the chart four times so far this year.

Walliams, 45, said: “I never dreamed of this scale of success.”
