MPs united behind Max’s Law

MAX’S Law got all-party support when it was presented to Parliament yesterday. Labour MP Geoffrey Robinson put forward the Organ Donations (Deemed Consent) Bill, which will mean every person in England is deemed an organ donor unless they specifically opt out. The Mirror’s Change the Law for Life campaign has been inspired by CAMPAIGN Max needs a transplant nine-year-old Max Johnson, who needs a heart transplant. His mum Emma, 47, of Winsford, Cheshire, hailed the cross-party support as “tremendous news”.

She said: “This demonstrates that this issue is not about party politics – it is far more important than that. The majority of people would want to save more lives.”

The Bill will get its second reading in Parliament on February 23.
