Scars are mental too

WILL Flint woke up in intensive care on New Year’s Day with 60 staples in grisly wounds after being stabbed 12 times.

The software entrepreneur, 27, had been partying in Birmingham when he saw Aidan Morrissey, 18, attacking a woman and intervened. He said: “He pulled out a knife. He then came towards me, trying to stab and hack me.”

Will, from Alvechurch, had a collapsed lung, severed diaphragm, sliced stomach and stabbed spleen. He added: “It changed my life. It’s not just the physical cost but the mental health cost. I suffered PTSD. The memories will stay with me.”

Morrissey was jailed for eight years and 10 months.
