Digital Monday, Disc Aug 7 This sci-fi thriller cost £86million to make but was considered a flop after taking just £131m at the box office. It’s based on an acclaimed Japanese cyberpunk comic strip and there was a big-screen animated version in 1995.

The eye-popping neon CGI looked spectacular on the big screen, but the flat script and dull dialogue suffer from a severe humour malfunction.

Despite encasing Scarlett Johansson in a nude body suit as a kick-ass military cyborg, this action thriller is a remarkably sexless enterprise.
