Boy, 5, helps pull off £35k robbery
A FAGIN-style gang fled with jewellery worth £35,000 after using a child to set up the heist, a court heard.
Bruno Nikolik, 30, and an accomplice sent the youngster, aged around five, into a shop last November.
The boy opened a door to the window display at Stanley Hunt Jewellers in Gainsborough, Lincs.
Moments later, the accomplice walked in and snatched a diamond necklace and five diamond rings.
Prosecutor Michael Cranmer-Brown told Lincoln crown court: “If the alarm went off, it would look like a child doing something he should not have.”
Dad-of-seven Nikolik, of Gainsborough, admitted theft and was jailed for two years. Neither the jewellery nor the accomplice have been traced.
