SKY’S STILL THE LIMIT FOR MAJOR TOM

-

TOMMY FLEETWOOD made the cut with a vital par at the last to card a 69. The local hero and world No.14 promised to atone for an opening 76. And he produced a gritty display for his fans in tough wet and windy conditions to stand five-over in total. Fleetwood (below) said: “I feel a lot better coming off the course than on Thursday. Just to make the cut is massive. “It is my first cut at the Open in my fourth start. “It is nice to give the fans something to cheer about. They should not be out there supporting me in that weather now.”
