Flair play to Phil over missed cut
PHIL MICKELSON believes he missed his first cut of the year with “flair”.
The 2013 champion failed to make a birdie for the first time in a Major round for five years in his opening 73.
“Lefty” made four birdies yesterday, but added eight bogeys and a triple-bogey seven at No.3.
The last cut he missed was at the Deutsche Bank Championship last September. “It’s not that big a deal,” he said. “And I missed it with flair.
“Rather than dwell on two rough days here, I’ll go home and get ready for upcoming events.”
