1m gamblers use self-ban
GAMBLING addicts asked to be banned from betting shops and websites over a million times last year.
Campaigners claim the rise of the “self exclusion requests” from 30,000 in 2013 shows bookies’ profits are increasingly reliant on milking problem gamblers.
The Gambling Commission said on average each gambler opted out from two operators.
Paddy Power had 62,000 online self-exclusions, the highest, and about 12,000 breaches. UK gamblers lost a total of £14billion.
