North-South Crossrail row
CHRIS Grayling sparked a bitter North-South row by backing a multi-billion rail scheme in London days after scrapping plans to electrify lines in the North.
The Transport Secretary said he would work with London Mayor Sadiq Khan to support Crossrail 2.
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham tweeted: “On Friday, Tories say they can’t afford rail schemes in the North. On Monday, they find billions more for London. Are these 2 things linked?”
