Charlotte loves life in the Dales
Charlotte Bellamy is coming up to 15 years in Emmerdale as Laurel Thomas – and she would love to stay much longer.
Asked if she would do another 15 years in the soap, she says: “If they’ll have me.
“I love my job. I’ve got so many friends in the profession who don’t work. So I’m so lucky to come to work every day. Even if you’re lucky enough to be in a really good BBC1 drama, that might be your job for a year and it might only be 10 days’ filming.
“So for us, I’m working three or four days every week. Why would I ever want to leave? I never would. Unless, obviously, I get on the bus that crashes.”
Charlotte, 43, named Best Actress at the British Soap Awards, says about Emmerdale: “It’s such a great place to be.
“There’s no egos. Every actor gets a chance to shine. And you support each other. When people do well, I love to say ‘You were brilliant last night’.”
