He sounds like he works hard. He’s not sitting around in his pants all day playing Xbox – he is working and contributing. But perhaps he needs to work out what it is he wants to do with his life (and that might be continuing to work in bars and restaurants).

Have you asked him what his views are on marriage and babies? Perhaps he doesn’t want those things right now because he doesn’t feel ready. Or maybe he doesn’t want them at all.

Before you think about taking things to the next level, you need to be really honest with each other about what you want in the future. And it might be different things.

If you nag him into marrying you when he’s not ready, he’ll end up resenting you for it.
