Pedro in mask for recovery

CHELSEA have been rocked by the news that their Spain winger Pedro has suffered multiple fractures to his eye socket and cheekbone.

Pedro, 29, (in hospital, above) was on the receiving end of a challenge from Arsenal keeper David Ospina during the first half of the Blues’ 3-0 win over the Gunners in Beijing on Saturday.

Manager Antonio Conte said: “I hoped it was only concussion. He had a multiple fracture but with a mask, in 10 days he could come back to work with us.

“I know it was accidental. It can happen, Ospina tried to take the ball.”
