£30M OR FORGET SAKHO, PALACE

LIVERPOOL are demanding £30million from Crystal Palace for French defender Mamadou Sakho. The 27-year-old centre-back played a key role in saving the Eagles from relegation last season. But they have been told there is ‘zero’ chance of taking Sakho (left) on loan with the Reds only interested in a permanent deal. He is keen to work with Frank de Boer but the Palace hierarchy agree Liverpool want too much for one of their fringe players. Palace have already spent £7.9m on Ajax centre-back Jairo Riedewald and are negotiating for Arsenal’s £20mrated 22-year-old Calum Chambers. Boss De Boer is intent on building from the back at Selhurst Park and said: “I am good at that and hopefully we can see that here. It starts there.”
