HAIR-RAISING Oblivion‘s scary vertical drop RIDERS were stranded on an Alton Towers rollercoaster that came to a standstill at a height of around 180ft.
Staff climbed the Oblivion yesterday to rescue the group, some as young as 12, on the steep incline close to a vertical drop.
Witness Alex Heasman-Bailey, 16, said the “very anxious” passengers were stuck there “quite a while”. The theme park in Staffordshire said the ride stopped because a sensor detected a minor technical fault.
Five people were seriously injured on the nearby Smiler ride in 2015.
