IT WAS not the Tour de France but it was anything but small beer for Chris Froome.

Froome finished second in the first of the traditional post-Tour races in Aalst, Belgium last night and celebrated with a large beer.

Oliver Naesen beat Froome in a sprint with Thomas De Gendt in third.
