Eu-Roo dream’s still alive

- BY STAN COLLYMORE BY DAVID MADDOCK

WAYNE ROONEY is desperate to fulfil his ultimate dream of leading Everton to European glory.

Brought up on tales of Cup Winners’ Cup glory (above), he always saw himself in the blue shirt battling against continental opponents.

He will finally get that chance at Goodison Park tomorrow. And the 31-year-old admits that even though it is a Europa League qualifier against Slovakian club Ruzomberok, it will be a moment to rank with some of his biggest.

“Something I always wanted was to play in Europe with Everton,” said Rooney (above). “It will be such an emotional day for me in my first game back. I’m looking forward to trying to help this club move forward.

“Walking out the tunnel again in an Everton shirt will be a special moment for me.”
