Pension pots £1.8bn taken

PENSION savers withdrew a record £1.86billion in early payments between April and June this year.

Around 200,000 took advantage of rules giving over-55s access to pots.

But there are fears some may end up skint. Expert Stephen Lowe said: “Many question the decision.”
