Star Jodie may also be the first Doc Who’s gay

-

The first female Doctor Who could also be gay, co-star Michelle Gomez hints.

The BBC has already had to respond to complaints about the casting of Jodie Whittaker, below, and Michelle raised eyebrows further at Comic Con in San Diego. She said: “I was the first female Time Lord and that was phenomenal. Now we have got a female doctor so there is going to be girl on girl.” Talking on a panel with Pearl Mackie – the Doctor’s gay assistant Bill Potts – Michelle, who plays Missy, added: “Maybe, I don’t know. It might work. It might be awful. And you might have to change the channel but do not do that.”

Michelle, 50, added: “Thumbs up for Jodie. She is really great and fab and a very good actress. And I am going to crush her.”
