A TEACHER has been permanently banned from the classroom after she had sex with a pupil on a plane.

Eleanor Wilson had been flying back from Switzerland after leading a school trip when the incident occurred.

A disciplinary panel heard how “drunk” Wilson, 28, started flirting with the lad at the back of the plane while caring for a poorly pupil.

The boy, who had drunk five mini bottles of wine, joined her in the toilets for sex, it was said.

The academy science teacher from South Gloucestershire continued their relationship, texting and meeting up for drinks, despite rumours at school.

The relationship came to light months later when another pupil emailed Wilson, saying he would reveal the tryst – unless she had sex with him.

Police and the school found out and Wilson was dismissed in May 2016.

At a professional conduct panel earlier this month she was found guilty of unacceptable conduct and bringing the profession into disrepute.

Wilson, who did not attend the hearing, earlier denied having sex with the pupil but admitted they “had hugged on occasion”.

The panel said it chose to believe the evidence of Pupil A who said he believed he was in a relationship with Wilson “and that he thought he loved her”. The age and name of the pupil are not included in its report.

Wilson had worked at the school, where she was also head of years 10 and 11, since 2013.

In July and August 2015 she had led a group of older pupils on the trip to the CERN complex in Switzerland – home of the Large Hadron Collider where beams of atomic particles are smashed into each other.

After returning, she told a school newsletter: “The trip will provide a real source of inspiration for our young people as they continue their studies and think about their career paths.”
