THE CHAR CHART
Correct colour of brew starts a storm in tea cup
THIS chart has started a real brew-haha over the correct shade for the perfect cuppa.
While there is no right or wrong way to take your English breakfast tea, that has not stopped an impassioned debate among drinkers.
One Twitter user in Leeds invoked the North/South divide, insisting: “D1. Anyone who chooses 3 or 4 is going to hell (or possibly The South).”
Another said: “This needs to be pinned up in all offices. It’s why the tea run is way more fraught than a coffee trip to Starbucks.”
The photo – similar to a wall paints colour guide, but with tea instead – went viral after being shared by the Yorkshire Problems Twitter account.
The anonymous account last month shared a picture of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn holding a huge bag of Yorkshire Tea with the caption: “Elect this man immediately #Yorkshire.”
D2 was the favourite shade. Now, is it milk first or afterwards?
