BARKLEY IS ‘100 PER CENT OUT’

-

RONALD KOEMAN has revealed he will sign THREE more players – and doesn’t need to sell Ross Barkley to pay for them. The Everton manager (above) has made it clear that his star England midfielder has played his last game for Everton, with some observers suggesting the 23-year-old may be forced out to pay for £50million-rated Gylfi Sigurdsson. But the straight-talking Dutchman declared that Barkley (right) could rot in the reserves, if he doesn’t leave, because his shopping list – for a centre-forward, a centreback and Sigurdsson – does not depend on outgoing sales. Asked whether he can sign players without selling Barkley first, Koeman replied: “Yes, it is not about Ross. We did really good work and I didn’t expect to get all the players in before tomorrow, some need more time and that’s all about business. We have lost Ramiro Funes Mori to a knee injury and I am looking to replace him. We lost Romelu Lukaku and brought in Sandro Ramirez – but we are trying to sign another striker and maybe one more. “I’m still not nervous and we have time, but we have enough new players in. “But everybody knows that we have tried to get one or two more in.” Barkley has not attracted a single bid – despite apparent interest from clubs such as Manchester United, Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea – which has led to fears that the midfielder could be pricing himself out of a move. After turning down more than £110,000 a week to stay at Goodison, his wage demands seem to have discouraged rival bids. But Koeman confirmed the player has definitely played his last game for the Blues. Asked if it was certain that Barkley would leave this summer, no-nonsense Koeman replied bluntly: “Yes, 100 per cent.”
